(1) Cylindrical lithium battery
advantage:
1) Mature manufacturing process: high degree of automation, good consistency, suitable for large-scale production.
2) High mechanical strength: The metal shell has strong impact and vibration resistance, and high safety.
3) Good heat dissipation performance: The cylindrical design increases the surface area, evenly distributes heat, and is easy to dissipate heat.
4) Easy to assemble: Battery packs can be flexibly formed through series and parallel connections, suitable for high-power applications.
Disadvantages:
1) Low space utilization: When cylindrical batteries are assembled into battery packs, there are gaps between the batteries, resulting in a decrease in overall energy density.
2) Heavy weight: The metal casing increases the weight of the battery, which is not friendly to lightweight design.
3) Shape limitation: Cylindrical design is difficult to adapt to the space requirements of certain special equipment.
(2) Square lithium battery
advantage:
1) High space utilization: Square batteries can be arranged tightly, reducing gaps inside the battery pack and improving overall energy density.
2) Flexible design: The size and shape can be customized according to equipment requirements, with strong adaptability.
3) Structural stability: The metal casing provides excellent mechanical strength and thermal management performance.
4) Easy to modularize: Square batteries are suitable for modular design, making it easy to integrate large-scale battery packs.
Disadvantages:
1) The manufacturing process is complex: the production process requirements for square batteries are high, consistency is difficult to guarantee, and the cost is high.
2) Poor heat dissipation performance: Square batteries have a small surface area and concentrated heat, requiring additional thermal management systems.
3) Heavy weight: The metal casing increases the weight of the battery, which has a certain impact on lightweight design.
